ATXGrubs Journey

Creating new content to share for ATXGrubs has been a dream come true for me. I love collaborating my love for writing, photography, and food all into one place to share with others. Promoting my passion through social media has definitely been a journey for me. Taking a leap and creating my own Instagram for my food was something I wasn’t sure I wanted to do but has turned out to be an amazing opportunity. ATXGrubs has helped me grow and learn more about what I want to get out of the food industry and my future that I had never really considered until taking a digital media class.

After learning a lot of great new techniques and being more versed in the digital world I feel confident in where I can take ATXGrubs in the future. The tools I found that were most effective in helping my blog was finding a good photo editing app like Lightroom or VSCO that could take my pictures to the next level. I also use a website called Grammarly for any writing project. Allowing me to check myself and helps me improve my writing process from start to finish. During this experience, I didn’t find there to be any tools that didn’t help me improve my content by even just a little bit which is rare when starting out and creating your own content.

Within my site, I’m hoping to include in the future new content from different bars and pubs in Austin, Tx. Adding cool drink menus that are being offered and where to find the best bar atmosphere to go out and enjoy a drink with your friends. Adding and trying out new ways to expand ATXGrubs will allow me to learn more and create better content in the future. My experience with ATXGrubs could help me turn my passions into a future career in social media and the food industry. Having a strong platform that can add to my career portfolio will help benefit my future in devious and career in whatever direction ATXGrubs leads me.

ATXGrubs Site Stats

Using data from WordPress, I was able to view the effectiveness of my online content to viewers which helped me see what content was bringing attention to ATXGrubs. My most popular week for posting blog content was the week of November 12th through the 18th. During that week ATXGrubs had 18 views and four visitors to the blog site. The most popular blog post so far has been the introductory post for ATXGrubs with six views. I think this post is the most popular because it touches on who I am and what the purpose of my blog posts are about. All of my site stats data was very expected for someone starting their first blog. The main thing that has made everything very exciting over this course was getting followers on my blog.

I also enjoy seeing my weekly viewer stats from Instagram, where I have in the past been putting most of my focus, grow over time. Seeing how many people who were viewing my page each week is still very exciting. That number started out in the one digits and now surprisingly can get up to 200 viewers a week depending on how much content I’m adding to ATXGrubs that week. Through everything so far I’m so thankful for the opportunities and platforms to be able to share my content with others. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for ATXGrubs!
